Best Filipino Dishes




1. Adobo

One of the most known dishes in the Philippines, adobo. Adobo is made by stewing meat (such as chicken, pork or maybe a combination of both) in soy sauce, vinegar, peppercorns, and bay leaves for a remarkable flavor.

2.  Lechon

Lechon is really famous in the Philippines particularly in Cebu and it is one of the top contenders when it comes to filipino dishes. Lechon is a fully roasted pig with deliciously crisp skin and juicy meat inside. This dish is prepared throughout the year for special occasions, Pinoy gathering- fiesta, and during holidays.

3. Sisig

Sizzling sisig on a hot stone plate is great with beer. Filipinos call it "pulutan." Sisig is a Kapampangan dish made from parts of pig head and chicken liver, seasoned with calamansi, onions, and chili peppers.

4. Sinigang

Sinigang is a sour soup native to the Philippines. Its sour and savory taste most often associated with tamarind, also known as, "sampalok." It is filled with vegetables with meat or seafood (can be pork, shrimp or fish).

5. Chicken Inasal

Chicken inasal, simply known as inasal is a special dish marinated in a mixture of vinegar, calamansi, ginger, and lemongrass. It has a appetizing golden-brown color due to annatto oil, which is also poured over the plain rice. Dip the inasal with the sauce of your choice.
